Seeking DIY System for My Tenants Apartment

Jan 31, 2006 3 Replies

Would anyone like to recommend a system for an upstairs apartment that I'm renovating?

I would like:

- DIY wired system. Walls and ceilings are presently stripped bare.

- Easy to operate. Tenants will be using it, not me. This is a biggie.

- CSM capable. Whether they use it or not will be up to them.

- Override/operate ability for me.

- Anything else I forgot/might be nice....?

Apartment Specs:

- Floor: 2 nd

- Rooms: 4 + Hallway, railroad layout, bathroom off hallway.

- Doors: 2: 1 in front room, 1 in hallway. Both open to common hallway (shared with other upstairs apartment.)

- Windows: 2 facing street, 2 facing backyard, 4 facing central airshaft.

Thanks, Tom

I would recommend the Ademco Vista 20P.

================ OK, Ademco Vista 20P it is. Thanks Jim.

If you buy a kit make sure it includes a programming keypad like the 6160, with the basic keypads you cannot program the zones - well some people can but it's not recommend.
