Extend Range

Lol! If you could get the panel to recognize a hardwire sensor connected to an RF antenna tell DSC please :)

Many years ago I used to make a dipole to extend the range of these transmitters. I could get them to transmit across a street to another house. It must be the correct dimensions and trimmed to the transmitters frequency. Somebody as linear may have the dimensions to build this. Let us know if you find them.

The problem with Crash's suggestion is that you'll be receiving signals on your alarm system from wireless headphones in Belgium...

They make a longer range one you know. I can't remember the model number of it, we used to use if for model home complexes...we'd cover a couple of hundred foot radius with one. It had a metal box instead of plastic and a long antenna..probably 27 inches. I bet it really was the same xmtr with a tad more power a metal box and a loaded antenna.

Thanks for all your help, I spoke to linear today with not much help. I will move the receiver closer to the outside wall.

To tell you all why it is not wired direct is it is on the out side of my mail box. 40 ft from the house. It runs a voice modal in my alarm system. "The mails here".

No 12 V battery, No mismatched cables, No 500 watt amps. Just the mails here. Rich

With a long enough antenna, the mailman could attach the mail to the end of it, extend it towards the house and ring the doorbell. No transmitter needed.
