I dont think it would be that hard if somebody wants to get the dll software. They can always bribe an ADT isntaller a few thousand dollars to get it if need beand if they are that desperate.
If the same program is used for every adt panel then it will be relatively easy for a security expert to get it, isnt it.
ADT installers took more than a month to set up a door alarm system and a cell backup package. I have had problems with zones going off even though the panel was not activated and CS getting communication problem between the panel and the radio tower and what not. I am literally sick of the security system but have no choice but to go along with it.
ADT installer came to my home at least 7 times in the last 40 days to fix various problems and even now I am not sure if it works. The last two days the CS didnt get any false signals but I am not holding my breath.
Some security experts had access to my panel when I was not home. I am not sure if they had anything to do with the mal-functioning and all those zone and communication problems.
Is it possible the communication between the alarm panel and the monitoring station has been compromised and if so can I request ADT to do some kind of tests to make sure the communication is not breached.
May be thats true for high end systems used by businesses and banks but we are talking about individual homes and apartments here.
So I am not that confident.
Thanks for your kind responses. Its hard to find somebody like you here without any sarcasm.
What panel can you see the CSID on manually? All the ones I have you can only see it from Compass. You can clear it out from the keypad but you can't see it...at least on the ones Ive worked on.
Highly doubtful. The installers don't have the program for one thing, and if ADT were inclined to lock the panels it would be a unique code for each system.
I dunno anyone who's ever gotten hold of ADTs software.
Depending on the ADT panel you can't see it in Compass either, the original Vista-10ADT and 20ADT panels won't display it, later versions will.
As far as from keypad programming while I figured he had a recent Ademco panel I wasn't sure and you can see CSID's in other manufacturers products like DSC
Well you said you are at your fbi contacts house on sunday and you posted your comment on sunday night. Did your fbi contact tell you about mcginns secret password on the phone or personally. I understand its a crime to lie under oath and its a punishable crime if ever this mcginn guys case goes to court.
I've got it, for some, but not all ADT systems.. It's out there, and available, However, there are easier ways to defeat the system than with downloading software. The original poster needs to talk to somebody who knows what he's doing, and not some brainless customer service rep.
Can you tell the group what are the easier ways to defeat the system so everybody else including crash, me and others can improve our knowledge and make security systems better.
Well if you dont like to post it here, can you atleast send personal email to me since I am a security novice and wont be abusing it but will be making my system a little bit more safe for myself.
I have a bunch of ADTs out there...you definitely cannot see it from keypad, and since my Compass is uncracked as far as programming ADT stuff...dunno if visible from there or not.
Can't see it with other panels I use either, unless you have codes to get in remotely.
With Ademco you can never see the CSID from the keypad, what I'm saying is that with ADT Compass you can't view the CSID of the first generation of V10ADT and V20ADT panels, apparently that was something they regretted since the ADT Vista20 &20 G and E panels did have visible CSID's within Compass
