Baystack 460 24T Switch console connect?? cant connect?

I am having issues connecting to this switch.

I am using:

9600
8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, no flow control. VT100

And it will just not connect. I connect the cables, turn the switch on and try to connect and nothing, hit enter a few times still nothing.

I have hyperterminal, hyperaccess..still does not work.

Any ideas?

If you're powering up the switch with the cable connected and still getting no characters on the display, this probably won't work. But it's worth a try:

hit control + y after the switch has been powered up a couple of minutes.
