Is the computer unprotected when Zonealarm upgrades itself with the file it has one download from its site?
Are all application settings reset (programs allowed or disallowed to access the Internet)? Thanks. -Tim923
There is a point where ZoneAlarm will turn itself off. There is a notification that it is doing so. I think it asks you if you are installing/upgrading the software. Your settings are persistent so you will not need to reinvent them. After the install/reboot, ZoneAlarm will ask you if you want to send them your configuration. This is information gathering to see how customer's use their product.
On my Window XP box I configured all applications that perform auto updates to ask before being allowed to access the internet. That includes Norton's AV, ZoneAlarm, and Windows auto updaters.
