Should be no more than about 10-12 mb. Something is obviously amiss.. You might try removing it completely and then reinstalling.

The 5.5.094 vsmon process is using ~110MB of RAM on my 1 GB RAM system. This seems excessive to me...
Shutting it down and restarting it seemed to fix it.
