I have Sygate PF and avast VS. I get a message saying "avast had a problem downloading updates" (for automatic download that is). I can manually download updates. What gives

See your separately multi-posted message in the other group (you should know what it is since you posted over there) for replies. When posting the same message to multiple related groups, cross-post. Multi-posting disconnects your posts so respondents in one group won't see replies made in the other group and may waste their time duplicating their replies.
