My boss has wants me to network 2 houses that are 2000 feet. Never having delt with fiber before I assumed that it would be way to expensive and my best bet would be using cat 6 cable with power cable running along side it to power repeater switches. I was wondering what the cost per foot is for 2 strand buriable fiber is so I can compare it to the cat 6 cable, switches and power cable.

Hello clarke, If i understand well, you can use this link: adsl modem with ethernetport two 100 base-T to100 base -Fx adapter, that have a mini power supply, ( for example we use this model LINDY MC110TMT)
2000 feet or more multimodale fiberIf you want save your money you can buy it trow ebay! Let me know if this help you
