what is a good value for the log buffer? C850 series

Hi all!I recently upgraded my C857 memory from 64Mb to 128Mb.(The 850 series have a memory slot, where you can place in a PC133DIMM - just make sure it is a low profile dimm)I was inspired by this article: (I used a low profile dimm -- no needte cut the metal frame)  At your own risk! have a picture of the inside if someone is interested.It now boots up with:"System Bootstrap, Version 12.3(8r)YI4, RELEASE SOFTWARETechnical Support:  (c) 2006 by cisco Systems, Inc.C850 series (Board ID: 2-149) platform with 131072 Kbytes of mainmemory":DNo, to actually do something usefull with the extra ram :)I want to increase the log buffer a bit.How much should I set it with 128Mb ram?I've set it to 20k for nowMy device is als configered as DNS forwarder (to my ISP's upstream DNSservers)Can I set the DNS cache time out a bit higher?Greetings & tanks in advaceS.

Hi there!Thanks for the tip.Seems a good amound to me.The log fills up with 7-12K/dayso 128K wil give me a +- week or moreMore then enoughThx!S.

You can also set up a syslog server to retain all loggin info for a long period of time.

I like the logging buffer so that I can quickly find recent messages while on a routr/switches that I am torublshooting
