All,
I have been implementing an MPLS connection (1Mb link). The config on the serial end uses frame-relay encapsulation. (IETF encapsulation with Cisco LMI, DLCI 16)
My serial shows up/down indicating layer 2 problems. When plugging a hard loopback plug on the NTU the carrier can ping their IP successfully (they sent me the results). When I install my X.21 cable I get no joy.
We built a template for the MPLS sites as there are a number to install. I know the template is good as other sites have been installed successfully. I spoke to the Telco to go through the config and the frame-relay encapsulation, LMI and DLCI info all match. The IP address on the WAN is correct.
When doing a show frame-relay pvc the PVC status show deleted. How can this be if the testing to the NTU is successful. One would assume I guess it's the connection between the NTU and router, however, I have tried 2 x separate routers, 2 x separate WIC cards and 2 x separate X.21 cables. The IOS is standard across all sites. 1 x router was the existing site router that I re-configured so I know it was working.
Anyone any ideas why the line protocol may be down.
I'm stumped !!
Regards
Darren
