How do you turn off the DF bit before a packet goes out the default route on a 3550 G switch?

The DF is set by the sender and can't be turned off by the router. If the router can't handle because of too small MTU it has to discard the packet.
As of 12.2(25)SEC Catalyst 3550 does not support the "set ip df" command in route-maps.

For TCP applications, using "ip tcp adjust-mss" is preferable to clearing the DF bit. (Don't know whether that's available on the 3550 tho.)
