SOHO 97 ADSL Settings

Hi,

I'm using the Web Setup to try and configure my SOHO 97 ADSL router. Whenever I try and change any settings, the progress bar that pops up keeps going on and on, seemingly forever. I have to kill Internet Explorer and when I reload Web Setup the settings haven't been changed.

The same thing happens with Scenario Setup.

I'm using Internet Explorer 6 with the latest Java 1.5.

Hi Simon,

Have you tried...

  1. A different PC to connect to it
  2. A different IOS

thought about....

  1. Just configuring it from IOS

alternatively if you have CCO access:

I have 12.3(T4) if your interested in a trade of IOS as it wont run on my tech rev. - or a 12.2 early release if you don't need 3des crypto....

i've been trying to get hold of a different 12.3 release for some time now so I would really appreciate getting hold of a different IOS to try

Sorry my mistake IOS wouldn't change CRWS as far as i am aware....

your going to need the actual files:

File Length Name/status 1 792 ConfigExp.cfg 2 474217 CRWSbHlp.html 3 826887 CRWS_1.jar 4 343149 CRWS_2.jar 5 61492 CRWS_VPNLogin.jar 6 47026 GUI.html 7 4895 home.html 8 252 IPCPSubnet.cfg 9 8082 loading.gif 10 3463 VPNLogin.html [1770908 bytes used, 64100 available, 1835008 total]

Thanks for taking the time to reply. After many hours searching the web and cisco.com I finally seem to have it working!

Sure. You'll have to walk me through it or point me to some documentation I can read though I'm afraid.

Turns out it wasn't that involved after all:

Is there anywhere to download the latest version and get it onto the router without using CRWS itself? It's not urgent now that I have things running but I don't like the idea of having a completely broken and useless version of it taking up memory in my router.

Hey Simon - good news its all up and running!!

If you can give me a hand with sending us your IOS (to snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com) I'd be very grateful.

Steps involved are simple:

  1. Download TFTP server from:
    formatting link
this on your PC - uninstalls cleanly when your finished but i'd recommend keeping it to backup your configs and flash!!

  1. Telnet to the router - EN priveledge level Issue the show flash command to check the available space in the flash memory. Router# show flash

3) Back up the existing Cisco IOS software image stored. Router# copy flash tftp Source filename []? soho97-k9oy1-mz.123-2.XC2.bin Address or name of remote host []? 10.1.1.1 ---> Your PC address Destination filename [soho97-k9oy1-mz.123-2.XC2.bin]? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3802992 bytes copied in 27.276 secs (140851 bytes/sec)

The file soho97-k9oy1-mz.123-2.XC2.bin should now be on your PC in your TFTP directory.

I'll be back from hols on the 22nd sept. and i'll send you: soho97-k9oy1-mz.123-4.T4.bin and soho97-k9oy1-mz.122-8.YN.bin (if you want it)

Reason i'm after it is the 12.3's have problems with PAT - depending on the tech revision - i'm only after a revision which supports crypto and PAT....

ALSO - sign up to this forum - its free and v. good for support!

Can't stress this enough but backup your flash and running config if your going to play with the unit.

Thanks mate Steve

Done.

The more the merrier! I don't suppose you or anyone else could tell me the main differences between those versions and the one I'm currently running?

Thanks again for all your help and advice.
