serial interface config

hi

i use DB-60 back to back cable to connect to 2 2501 router . and find the round trip(about 60 ms) is quite high when i just ping the destination ip.

no any new config but only default parameter. like clock rate 64000, mtu 1544, encap hdlc...

pls help

If you configure a higher clock rate, your transmission delay will be cut short and that should bring down your RTT some. Depending on what cable you are using, you can use a higher clock rate. Do a "clock rate ?" under the serial interface config and see what options you get and choose a higher supported clock rate for that cable type.
