VOIP intermiittent issues - works fine after router restart

Hi friends,

There are two offices located around 750 miles apart and they communicate over VOIP. Each location has a 1751V router with VIC-2FXS card and IOS version being 12.3(10).

When location 1 tries to call location 2, it works sometimes and sometimes, it requires a router restart at location 2 for it to work.

Has anyone come across this problem? Any ideas suggested in this regard would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot Gautam

Before restarting the 2nd router check to see if the PVDM and/or FXS card is being recognised. I had a problem with PVDM on a 1751 recently whereby the FXO card would 'dissapear' and require a reboot - this was caused by a faulty PVDM .

do a "sh diag" to check all boards/PVDMs are being recognised. Also there is a PVDM OK LED on the rear of the unit which should be lit.
