Netflow on PIX

Does PIX v7 support Netflow or any other traffic accounting for real-time bandwidth monitoring?

Thanks, Peter

Not Netflow, no. I don't know if there is any way to do real-time traffic monitoring with 7.x; I haven't looked at the MIBs.

Bandwidth monitoring can be done using SNMP-Interface counters. Netflow equivalent data can be derived from the info-log.

I was under the impression that snmp counter only give you the totals, not accounting per internal host ip, right? Does the info-log (what is it?) work the same way as syslog messages? I can analyze those and do accounting on the teardown messages, but it's only after the fact, after the connection ends, not in real time.

Thanks, Peter

Ack.

(conf)# logging trap information

Yes.

It's realtime, if you read the log when it increases ;-)
