How to prepare a Cisco 806 for resale?

Jan 07, 2008 2 Replies

I have a Cisco 806 toy router that I am trying to sell. Naturally, it has my own config in FLASH now. I believe that it would be good for the future buyer of this gadget if I could restore the router to some sort of default state. Any suggestions for how to do that?

Use the erase command to ditch the running and startup-config. Should keep current IOS and get rid of your config/traces of your usage.

Unless you are in one of a small number of countries, the software license will not transfer when you sell the router, not unless the relicensing rules are followed.
