Our company *might* purchase the 2800 integrated service router, with a couple of switching cards. From there, one of the lines goes to a media converter to be converted to fiber. Is there a way to bypass this step and just have the router perform this function with a built in fiber card? I'm not sure if the 2800 supports this function though.

Hi,
The 2800's do not have fiber ports embedded. You could add a HWIC-1GE-SFP and equip it with the appropriate fiber SFP! But that would rather be an expensive option.
