I needed to remotely connect to an xp box using VNC or PCAnywhere.How do I determine the public ip address on a verizon dsl connected to a linksys router. Thanks.

Get a person on the remote XP box to access

It will tell them the WAN address assigned to their router
From the Linksys, it should tell you its WAN IP in the stats page.
