No, you need software running on a supervisor for that.

Well a supervisor is a given, but yes he needs an MSFC running router code.

You wouldn't need MSFC specifically on a lot of the configurations, such as a 5500 with Supervisor II.

But a supervisor is not a given in this case -- this is the same OP that was asking about running the 5500 without any supervisor.
