DHCP, active only on a few ports of Switch

Apr 21, 2007 0 Replies

Hi,

Somewhat of an obscure question about a 2950 switch and IOS software:

Is it possible to have a Cisco IOS DHCP server on all ports (for example) above 6, and DHCP blocked on ports 1 thru 6?

The object to prevent the Cisco IOS DHCP server from issuing any IP addresses to rest of network. For example: Main Network is 10.10.10.x. Would like small VLAN with DHCP with address of 10.10.250.1 thru

10.10.250.18. Don't want the Main network ports to be issued any of the
10.10.250.X addresses.

Can this be done?

Phil in Michigan.
