I don't recall at the moment; it has been years since I last worked in CatOS.
One thing you can do is change the community strings to something no-one knows. There will still be some snmp processing going on, but the packets will get rejected before the device is walked or whatever.

It's been a while since i saw catos, but another solution might be ACL. If i remember correctly, i was able to assign an ACL to SNMP settings, so only the ips permitted by the acl were allowed to use snmp, regardless of the community string. deny ip any any might help you.
