Default user.

I have a 837 and I was setting up the config file. I gave it a name and enabled the ssh 2 server. There was only a "login" (not login local) on line vty 0 4 with password cisco. It has never asked to me the username before configuring the ssh server and before exiting for timeout but it has not username configured. Which username have I to write on login? I tried level_15_access, level_15, admin but none of them worked.

Can anyone help me? I was managing it by remote...

Alex.

Thanks, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me. The question is why it is asking the username when I've not set up "login local"?

Alex.

SSH requires authentication, which is why you will need to enter a username / password.

Configure a user using the "user" command under global config mode.
