Can anyone tell me what BGP attribute is used to prevent routing loops?

The attribute used to prevent routing loops is AS Path. If the router see it's own AS number in the AS Path, it's a loop...

and for iBGP route reflectors an additional attirbute - originator-id - is used to help prvent routing loops
