515E DHCP Question

I have a 515E that, according to the quick start guide, should allow out of the box https configuration. The DHCP server is supposed to be operational as well. However, I am only able to connect to the 515E via a serial connection. I can tell that the DHCP server is enabled, as is the "inside" ethernet port (eth1), and the http server. I followed the instructions in the command line configuration guide, and have had no luck in getting DHCP working.

Could someone please give me an idea on where to start troubleshooting my problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott,

You may wish to investigate Cisco's PIX/ASA as a DHCP Server and Client Configuration Example:

Scott,

Before you go crazy....a 515 ships with the IP address of 192.168.1.1/24 on the inside interface (e1), the DHCP server is not enabled by default, the http server is tho on the inside. You need to give your machine a static on the 192.168.1.X subnet. You then either need a crossover cable from your PC to the e1 interface or patch both the pc and pix in to a switch. Once you have link on both bring up a browser and go to https://192.168.1.1 or it might be https://192.168.1.1/admin username and password are blank.
