1721 with 10Mbps Cable? open original image

My cable company in the UK has just announced that they will be increasing the speed of my current package from 2Mbps down 256kbps up to 10Mbps down

384kbps up, sometime in the next few months.

I am currently using a Cisco 1721 with a WIC-1ENET, would it be better to upgrade the WIC-1ENET to a WIC-4ESW 10/100BASE-T, would this then allow me to use my connection to its full potential?

Or would a Cisco 871 be a better option?, as this is a new model with a faster CPU.

Thanks

Neil

Thanks for the information, do you or anyone else have any thoughts on if the 1721 or the 871 would provide me with the greatest performance for large amounts of P2P traffic.

Regards, Neil
