Simulators for CISCO CCNA

Jan 26, 2008 3 Replies

All, I don't have access to real hardware. What is recommended for hardware simulation configuration ?

Try Packet Tracer from Cisco. It is what I'm using in the new CCNA curriculum. There are some things that it won't do, but will handle the bulk of the CCNA requirements.

Boson Netsim, Dynamips, Packet Tracer, but NOTHING is a good substitute for the real devices. I've spent some money and got myself a very nice lab setup (

). It's worth the money spent.

Packet Tracer is only available to Cisco Networking Academy students - it is not a commercial product.

NetSimK is not too bad and the price is right (legally)
