IGRP doesn't use hop count as a metric, nor does EIGRP.

thanks for that-I know RIP uses Hop count-it was a question on a quiz I was doing-
Neither EIGRP or IGRP use hop count in their metric calculations, but they do have a maximum number of hops from one side of the network to the other.
These are the figures that you have of 224 for EIGRP and 255 for IGRP.

By default yes, but could use also MTU, Link load and Link reliability.
