PIX Fail-over question

Hi all,

We are using a pair of Cisco PIX Firewall, I have a question about the failover and I hope someone can help me. I have 2 PIX 515E UR firewall, one is Active and the other is Standby.

PIX_1 is connecting DMZ_1_switch1, DMZ_2_switch1 & DMZ_3_switch1 PIX_2 is connecting DMZ_1_switch2, DMZ_2_switch2 & DMZ_3_switch2

If the DMZ_1_switch1, DMZ_2_switch1 & DMZ_3_switch2 have no power in the same time, which PIX will be active? Will it switch from PIX_1 to PIX_2?

Please advise, Thanks.

Regards, Dovelet

Are you trying to use failover to monitor the PIXs, or to monitor the switches (and thus the network) that they connect to? If you're using it to monitor the PIXs, then I would suggest using a serial cable for failover instead of using IP-based failover...
