Hi,
I'm using Firewall Builder 2.0.8 to create/install rules on some Cisco PIX firewalls, but have a few problems that I hope someone inhere can help me with:
1) Installing the rules takes a very long time (5-10 minutes). Is there any way to speed this process up? I tried running it as quiet - maybe it has improved slightly, but it's hard to say.
2) During installation of the policies the firewalls will close all connections and the users will be unable to go through them - can this be remedied? My colleague found an option under the "script Options" tab (in the PIX Firewall Settings" window) that might be interesting, but we would like it confirmed. The option is the one that reads "Do not clear access lists and object group, just generate PIX commands for the new ones. Use this option if you have your own policy instalation scripts". We're currently using the option above that says "Clear all access lists and install new ones. This method may interrupt access...."
3) Compiling also takes forever and a day, but I expect this is just a matter of raw CPU power (or a lack thereof :)
Any ideas or thoughts?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
