When I connect wirelessly to an unsecured AP like at Holiday Inn Express, am I secure to do HTTPS banking transactions so long as I'm don't have sharing on and a firewall active?
Thanks, Dave

Sure, it's just as safe as doing it anywhere else. Anyone intercepting the traffic between you and the AP will only see the encrypted packets you and the remote site are exchanging, just as would any other interloper between you and the site. Just make sure the site *is* encrypted by looking for the lock icon before putting in anything sensitive.
