Restrict Wireless Client access to only 1 router

Dec 06, 2005 1 Replies

Is there a way to limit access from a wireless client to connect to only 1 router and no others? More simply, we would like to limit our clients to be able to access the router at our office to download information collected throughout the day with out them being able to connect to unsecured wireless networks they may encounter throughout the city, during the day. With the popularity of wireless networks and particularly unsecured ones, this is becoming a problem. All of the equipment is Dlink.

Thanks in advance

You could try the hotspot defense kit

Not sure how it would work out for you but you can specify the MAC addresses of the AP's that are in the allowed list as far as I know. Not sure how well you'll be able to lock it down to prevent users modifying the list.
