If anyone knows about a dual-mode phone - except the Motorolla one - that is commercially available I'd love to know about it
Thanks to all

Ouch! Doesn't that pretty much rule out using one of those phones (for web/email) in a public hotspot? The few hotspots that I use my PDA at (library, bar 'n grill sports restaurant, etc), are 802.11b/g. Haven't come across any that are
802.11a...I'm using 802.11a (along with 802.11b/g) at home, but no way would I consider an 802.11a gadget intended for it's main use to be outside of the home..
Thanks for the info. I would be very surprised if the Motorolla uses
802.11a because of the power consumption of the "a" chipsets. Unless there is a new chipset out there this is probably not correct. Of course, I could always be wrong - and often are...
