Today I tried twice to re-enable WEP, and both times, I couldn't reconnect to the network. Yes, I used HEX...and yes, the key was identical on the Linksys setup screen and the notebook. I'm leaving the SSID alone for now, since that's what started all of this.
So I guess that leaves two possibilities: The wireless Windows steup on my notebook has become altered. Or, there's something wrong with my SMC wireless card or card setup, since WEP had been working fine with this card for a year now. As a side note, WEP has worked flawlessly with my iPaq 4155 PDA on my home network.
Any other suggestions before I try a Linksys 802.11g card?
Thanks again for all your help! I feel a lot more confident about my wireless setup now.
