hello,

Is DCOM over VPN possible? I tried IPSEC , PPTP. It look that only overr an internal network DCOM is working fine. tnx frank

Hello Frank,

You can route any thing over IPSEC as far as it is inside TCP or UDP. I do not know much about DCOM however if there are tunneling options available with DCOM like TCP tunnelling it will go through IPSEC.

Hi,

You can try ViPNet VPN from

formatting link
- it is free to try for 45 days, but I give you 100% that will work with DCOM, because I'm already using it in my backoffice. ViPNet VPN can tunnel any IP traffic and not only UDP and TCP.

Yes any RFC compliant IPSEC product will carry IP traffic. Cisco VPN products can carry DCOM. As I said earlier I have no idea regarding what kind of traffic is DCOM however if it is inside IP it will go. What I mean earlier was I tried with STUN which gives you an option to tunnel inside TCP.

GRE can also be tried.
