I ordered VoicePulse for a second line, on top of my Bell landline. The next step -- unless I'm totally off -- is buying a two-line phone to accommodate them.
(1) Anything look inappropriate for my situation in this phone?
(2) My PC, of course, is across my old house (about 30 ft.) from the single phone jack. The phone base must connect to both a jack (for the landline) and to the ATA (for VoicePulse), right? Must I string ugly extensions through the house? Can I plug in a wireless phone jack near the computer -- and if so which product is the best value? Either way, will call quality be impaired? Is there a better solution?
(3) Then I sink into confusion about how I'm going to know about calls on the other line if I don't have the ringer turned up. VoicePulse service has call waiting, and on this phone call waiting is supposed to alert you to calls on the other line. Will that work here?
Aslo: The landline won't have call waiting, and if I understand correctly the display on this phone is on the handset, where I'm guessing I won't notice a message while I'm using it. Should there also be some indicator, visual or otherwise, in the phone base?
Thanks much.
