Please could someone advise whether a Mitel SX2000 running the P stream software will support the Superset 4000 handsets.

Sorry Anthony, P-stream (aka Lightware 28) will not support the 4000 series phones.
Support for the 4000 series instruments was introduced in Lightware 29 Release 1 (Q.01.6.3) on April 14, 1998.
