I found a bunch of mysterious inbound 30 cent "premium" text messages on my cell phone bill, which I believe were invitations to chat from sms.ac.
To my astonishment, Cingular told me that they absolutely would not remove the charges, and if you have text messaging at all, there is no way to prevent random crooks from sending these messages and forcing you to pay for them. So I did the only possible thing, and turned off text messaging completely. Too bad.
