Simon 3-Adding handheld touchpad

Hi,



I am trying to add a handheld touchpad to my new Simon 3 alarm system. When I press Add, then Sensor/Remote, I get the voice prompt "function unavailable". Does anyone know how I can enable this function. The system was installed by an ADT reseller.

You aren't using installer code 1 or 2, your trying to do it with the master code

Thanks very much for such a speedy response. I assumed this was the problem, I tried the factory default of 4321. No luck. I guess this leaves me at the mercy of the installer.

Do you have any other suggestions?

I would suggest you leave adding devices such as that to the installer

Yea, Throw that garbage (Simon 3) in the garbage and buy a real system.
