Fire alarms are a whole different issue from security systems. In BC and Alberta (the two provinces I've worked in), the manufacturer (or their authorized representative) does the verification on the installation which includes programming the system to meet the specifications provided by the Engineer. The master programming password is intentionally changed from default to prevent anyone but the individual company responsible for the verification from accessing the system and changing the parameters away from the programmed ones approved and sealed by the Eng.

Does anyone else notice that almost every "tech support" answer from Olson gives no tech support at all -- just a bunch of nonsense that the OP probably already knows, or a few trite questions about the particulars -- but NO useful answers?

The OP didn't ask how to default a FIRE panel. He asked if anyone knows how to return the PASSWORDS to default on the panel. Is there some reason you think it's necessary to yell FIRE when discussing the panel?

Are you saying that Olson isn't stupid? Do you have proof that he's not stupid? Have you seen one shred of evidence to support the idea that he's not stupid? Do you believe he snap-rolled a 737? Wait, that would make you stupid too. You can plead the fifth (after Cracker finishes drinking it).

Only thing I'm curious about is if you know the name of the company he works for, if you can't answer that then I think we all know who is really stupid

Robert has made many references to Frank being a "counter clerk" and in order to know that he'd have to know where Frank works, I don't think he does and therefore doesn't know what Frank does

Ask RLB, its important enough to him that he has placed calls to central stations, distributors and suppliers looking for information on Frank.

Yes, we all know that respect for installation companies is not important to you. We all know that you'd give proprietary information to anyone who asked for it, if you could make a $.05 sale. Yes, yes, yes, .... we know that you're a scumbag and have no loyalties, or concerns for anyone but yourself. And we certainly know that you only provide information here so that you can make money and that you use the expertise of others here for the same purpose. It's understandable how you'd not recognize Franks use of discretion, since you don't have any.

Because one of Bass's self admitted favorite things to do to someone who disagrees with him, is to locate his employer or suppliers and make up stories to get his detractors in trouble.

I'm surprised you haven't seen reference to the numerous times he's done this to people. A number of years ago, after Bass had stolen some information from someone in an aviation group, everyone in the group chasitised him. He then tried to "ransome" his way back into acceptance by giving back the information. But he'd already shown his true colors. He subsequently reported some one in the group to FAA or some relevant flying organization, as flying while intoxicated, with no proof, just to get even with him. He's done similar things to others too. If he could find out where Frank was employed, he'd do his best to attempt to destroy his reputation. Bass has repeatedly stated that he's searched and made telephone calls to various people in Franks area, attempting to find information about him. Frank, being at least as cautious as I am, fortunately has concealed his identity sufficiently to avoid Bass's inquiries. Thus Bass assumes that Frank is merely a "counter clerk".

Since you don't know what you're talking about (again), I'll try and clarify things (for your benefit). In order to restore the level one or level two passwords, he's going to need the level 3 password (which also happens to be the main programming one). Defaulting the passwords to the AFP-200 panel

I don't give out the means to do this on *any* fire alarm panel unless I know whom I'm dealing with and they can verify several things. So far, the OP hasn't contacted me and perhaps he's leary of providing personal and corporate information to "just anyone" he happens to meet on Usenet. I quite frankly don't blame him. He is, after all, participating in a Newsgroup with an individual (one Robert L. Bass) who has without hesitation posted pertinent personal information in this forum, contacted the employers of several individuals in this Newsgroup (with whom he has ongoing disputes) to file grossly exaggerated claims of unprofessional conduct and outright lies, and tried to find out information about me (I believe for no other reason than to take his Newsgroup attacks to the "next level" -real life!!).

He hasn't responded to anything I've post since I called him out on some stuff about six weeks or so ago and I've even been baiting him. I guess I am on his **ignore list**. Maybe that way he feels he doesn't have to respond to the questions I put to him. As far as Frank's employer goes, Bass is just fishing hoping to pick up on a glue, since he doesn't have one.

I was using OE most of the time, but it was messed up. I also used to use Mozilla once in a while on the old machine.
