MA1008LKDL vs MA1000E

What is the difference between those 2 Napco models? They both appear to have 6 burg. zones, and fire zones, built in dialer, etc. I believe that the 1000E is a newer model that may be supported by the newer (windows) version of the software. Similarly, what is the difference of the 1008E and the 1000E? What does ENB mean (come without a battery as part of the package? (1008ENB)

The LKDL is older, both 1008LKDL and 1008E support 2-wire smokes whereas the

1000e only supports 4-wire, User codes can be added in programming on the E series.

The differences are slight. The similarities are they have not made any of those models in some time (nearly a decade now for some). If not already installed and programmed properly, then each should be in the same recycle dumpster. If you program with the original PCD 2000 it is easier to see the differences in features model by model. Examples:

1008 1008E 1016 1016E etc. If you ask, someone (not me) would probably be kind enough to email you a copy of PCD 2000 if you don't have one already.
