DIY Wireless System Recommendations?

RHC: Touche!........ but, no Frank, I do consider overall politeness to be an important part of conducting all of life's affairs. It's just that now that I am a senior, I've decided to call a "spade a spade" a bit more than before. Also, I think I have been in this business a bit too long.... I'm getting jaded.

However, an idiot is an idiot no matter how you dress 'em up !! In life, if you give respect, you generally get respect in return. I always treat everyone that way until they prove they are not worthy of it. But sling stupidity like this guy does, and it should get returned in like manner.....I don't think they can understand anything else !

I've lived here most of my life. I take pride in being an American. I own property in the US and travel there way more than I should. We live close enough to the border to make buying gas in Bellingham a regular thing and even with the current rate of exchange there are still bargains to be had.

You're way further south than even I've been. I spent a summer in Caracas a long time ago.

Venezuela? That's further south than Florida.

And if you cross the equator, is it still considered south? I mean, wouldn't you have to calculate latitude of a location to be able to compare it with somewhere in the northern hemisphere?

Just for fun I looked it up. Caracas is in the northern hemisphere at about 10 Degrees N. Im in Recife, Brazil at the moment, which is about 8 Degrees S. The farthest south Ive been is Sao Paulo, which is

The closest to th equator that Ive been was when I went to the Amazon a couple of years ago. Im pretty sure I mentioned it here. There the satellite dishes point almost straight up. We were about 75 miles south of the equator. BTW, I caught ~45 peacock bass (called tucanare by Brazilians) tht trip. My biggest catch was 22 lbs. Good call. It rained almost every day, but not all day. Most days it was sunny at least during the time you'd expect to go to the beach. Nights were much more fun. We got invited to a snappy night club called "Jardins" one night. The place was packed with young, fashion-model types drinking, dancing and laughing. My friend knows the owners so we were scooted past the line and escorted to the VIP section -- loud music from a pretty decent band and then a great DJ. They have a top-flight light show with lots of lasers and robot fixtures. Another night we went to a quieter club where I met some political big-shots.

The whole trip took less than 2 weeks but it was a good break from the routine. Ah, well. Tomorrow I'll be back at work.
