Anyone who knows anything about the Lucas alarm system on the Landrover Disvcovery?

Yes. Don't touch it. It incorporates a self defence mechanism that is designed to melt your car if anyone other than a certified factory tech works on it. My Navigator's Alpine system has a similar feature, but it only melts the wheels. :-)
