SmartHome SwitchLink Problem

Mar 05, 2005 1 Replies

I have been using the SmartHome SwitchLink 23885 relay switch to control a fluorescent spot light in my kitchen. Everything worked well, until yesterday, when I added SwitchLink 2384 Dimmer switch to my dining room. Kitchen light and dining room light are not connected together, they are separate circuits. Now when I turn on or off the

2384 in the dining room, the 23885 in my kitchen turns the light on. If the 2384 is on, I can't turn the 23885 off, it comes back on right after turning it off.

When I pull up the little light pipe switch/LED on the face of the

23885, it should turn the power off to the switch, but I can still operate the switch. Is this an indication of the faulty switch? What else could be the reason for the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help and comments.

It really doesn't sound like a switch issue to me. It sounds more like a wiring issue. I would double check your connections. Perhaps someone who is a better electrician than I am can chime in.
