Lamplinc strange dimming response

Last December I discovered LampLincs, as a better X10 module. I have a bunch of the 2000SHL's. After discovering the (slow) timing problems with their programming, I've run into something weird. I have one set as 60 second ramp rate, and 100% Default On Level. If I set it all the way off, and send a bunch of Bright commands, it only brightens to about 20% (guess), and stays there no matter how long I hold the Bright button. Commands are going out since LEDs are blinking all over the place. But it gets no brighter. If I now hold the Dim button, the lamp "Brightens" all the way up, then continues to dim down to zero. Repeating the Bright/Dim operations keeps doing the same thing. However, I've noted that if I don't dim all the way to zero, Brt & Dim work OK. Or, if I'm at zero, and send a single BRT, pause and send more brights, it works OK. Is this part of the bug in the modules related to dimming from step 1 to zero that it makes a jump, rather than smoothly dimming? Regards, Don PS -- Smarthome tech support was just like Microsoft's: 100% correct, but absolutely useless.
