I've used Zone alarm on my old Windows 98 machine very recently - about
6 months ago.
A friend was moving to broadband so I thought I'd help out by installing it on her Windows 98 machine.
She is now so well protected from the internet that she can't use e-mail or internet explorer! If I try "ping news.bbc.co.uk" it says something about not knowing where it is (DNS server problem). If I ping the IP address it gets a request timed out.
Shuting down Zone Alarm didn't help.
Our next step will be to un-install it but I'm not sure that will fix it.
Any ideas?

P.S. I tried searching for this on google but I can't think of a good keyword to filter it out from all the other more complex zone alarm problems.
