ZA causes very slow boot

Nov 11, 2004 3 Replies

I have XP Home, SP1, and decided to try the free version of ZA. It seemed to work OK, but my system boot time went from 1 min 53 seconds to 7 min 28 seconds! After a day of this, I removed ZA, and the boot time went back to normal. Tried again, with the same result.

Any idea on what is going on?

ZA is slowing down your bootup. ;->

Why ask a question you already know the answer to? E.

Let me dumb down, err, refine the question. Anybody know WHY this is happening? ;) I haven't seen this mentioned before, though the firewall in SP2 has been reported as slightly increasing boot time.

How much memory do you have, what type/speed CPU do you have?

My machines, without ZA boot in under 30 seconds, even with all of what I have loaded.
