Yeah, I know that Kerio says version 4 is only for Win 98 and up, but I read a report that it ran just fine under Win95C.
I ran the 4.1.3 install on the Win95a laptop (IEradicator'd, if that makes a difference). Everything seemed to go fine. Then the message that I'd have to reboot to complete the install.
On reboot there was a BSOD:
Invalid VxD dynamic link call from FWDRV (0) + 00032AE to device " VWIN32 " service 1D. Run Windows Setup
Repeat, same thing.
So I booted into Safe Mode and tried to run the firewall. It complained that WS2_32.DLL was missing. So I uninstalled. Fortunately, the computer booted just fine after that.
ZoneAlarm plain refuses to install on Win95.
The best free program I've found so far is the compact Look 'n Stop Lite version 1.04 Beta, but it is in French, is old, and I don't know how well it will work.
