AOL and firewall

Oct 12, 2005 1 Replies

A friend of mine who is on W98 and AOL, bless him, is panicking about having a firewall. Another friend tells me that AOL has its own firewall. Is this true or do I recommend ZA?

He does not need a "Personal Firewall", if he's using Windows 98. It's enough to unbind any servers from his outside network interface.

If he's using the AOL software and not the NDIS stack, then a "Personal Firewall" will not help anyway. Then he's using AOL, not the Internet.

Yours, VB.
