AOL Firewall blocking aolpspd and aolsmon.

I get this message in a dialog box everytime AOL starts:

Fireware software may be blocking your AOL software, preventing it from communicating with the AOL service. If you have firewall software on your computer, please configure your firewall software to allow the following AOL programs:

- aolpspd.exe - aolsmon.exe

If you still experience difficulty, please restart your computer. (40:26)

In addition, I am unable to see anyone's buddy information.

I am running Windows XP with NIS.

A search of Google doesn't turn up these programs.

Help!

Search your HD for these files and see if the show up in AOL or in any sub-folders within your common programs folder. If they do, you could make a rule to allow them in NIS and see what happens. If you locate them, you probably want to scan them first with a reputable, updated AV utility before you make any rules to allow them access to the internet.

Option 2 would be to uninstall AOL completely and reinstall and wait to see if NIS requests any action on these files.

Option 3 would be to totally get rid of AOL and use a real ISP.
