WIC-1AM - auto answer question

Jun 29, 2006 3 Replies

Hello, I have several 1721 routers, each with 56k frame wic and an analog modem wic (WIC-1AM). They are configured to dial-on-demand into our network if the primary frame link goes down. My question is, and this is probably easy for someone, how do I disable the auto-answer feature on the modem. In other words, I don't want the modem to ever answer when the phone rings since we use the same line for an alarm system.

Thanks very much, Jason

Hmm...I didn't see that command...any other ideas?

line 0/1/0 password 7 104D000A0618 transport input all transport output all stopbits 1 speed 115200 flowcontrol hardware

end

Use a modemcap that sets S0=0:

debug confmodem terminal monitor

config t modemcap edit NOANSWER misc &FS0=0 line 0/1/0 modem autoconfigure type NOANSWER
